Yunnan Pu'er tea

Nestled in Xishuangbanna, southern Yunnan (21°-22°N), Menghei County is the birthplace of Pu'er tea, renowned for its ancient tea forests and volcanic soil. With elevations of 800-2,000m, tropical monsoons, and mist-shrouded valleys, this region nurtures Camellia sinensis var. assamica—large-leaf tea trees thriving in mineral-rich terrain.
